Clapp 360 Communications, an integrated marketing and communications firm, recently named Michael Verdi as director of marketing technology. Verdi will be responsible for creating digital marketing campaigns for clients, handling web development and managing the agency’s technology stack.
Verdi has worked for both startups and publicly traded companies, and brings software engineering experience in marketing and sales automation, personalization and big data analysis.
Prior to joining Clapp 360 Communications, Verdi founded Cigar City CrossFit in Tampa, Florida, where he focused on improving the customer experience and managing the client life cycle from prospect to multi-year member. He also led the gym’s growth strategy—utilizing digital ads, landing pages, content writing, and lead-nurturing campaigns to grow the gym’s monthly revenue from $0 to $40,000 in under two years.
Verdi previously worked as a software engineer at New Relic Inc., where he focused on building marketing automation tools and creating better customer onboarding flows. Before that, Verdi worked on a distributed web development team building internal tools for the daily deals site LivingSocial.
In his free time, he volunteers as a technical interviewer at the Flatiron School and as an instructor at CodeNow, where he teaches inner city youths the skills they need to begin careers in computer programming.
“I’m excited Michael has joined the agency with his distinct background,” said Michael DeMos, president and CEO of Clapp 360 Communications. “As someone who has not only developed applications and campaigns for various companies but also taught these skills to others, we’re eager to see how his efforts expand our firm and digital services in the upcoming year.”
